Raised the son of a black mother and a Jewish stepfather, Greer
Barnes was the only black kid in his neighborhood in The Bronx to have
a bar mitzvah. A talented athlete who was scouted by the San Francisco
Giants, Greer was benched by an injury and set about pursuing his other
talent, making people laugh.
Greer began his comedy career in
the early nineties, and within a few years made his national television
debut with an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. His
other television appearances include Last Call with Carson Daly, Comedy
Central's Premium Blend and Shorties Watching Shorties, MTV and HBO.
Following a national tour with Dave Chappelle, Greer also went on to be
a regular performer on the mega hit, Chappelle's Show.
Greer also combined his love of baseball and performing when he was featured in the Kevin Costner film, For Love of the Game.
